What is BMI?
Body Mass Index is a simple measure that uses your height and weight to estimate whether you’re a healthy weight. It’s calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in metres squared. A BMI between 18.5 and 25 is generally considered healthy for most adults.
How accurate is BMI?
BMI is a useful screening tool but has limitations. It doesn’t distinguish between muscle and fat, so athletes may show as overweight. It also doesn’t account for age, sex, or where you carry weight.
